I wasn’t expecting much when I peeked into the little corner where I’d left my makeshift planters — old water bottles with tiny holes I’d cut for drainage. Honestly, I couldn’t even remember what I’d planted in them. A few random seeds, I thought, nothing special.
But then, there they were: tiny green shoots pushing their way into the sunlight. Chili peppers. Turmeric. My heart did a little somersault.
I scooped them up (bottles and all) and brought them home, figuring they’d stand a better chance if I could check on them every day. Water them. Make sure they got enough light. A week has passed and they’re still growing, still reaching upward, still reminding me that life has its own quiet way of surprising us.
